Pet Hospice & End-of-Life Care for Your pet

No one ever wants to let a four-legged family member go. As lifelong caretakers of animals, the veterinarians of Blue Ridge Animal Hospital understand firsthand how difficult it can be to see the light at the end of the tunnel when faced with a life decision for your four-legged children. Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is something that many of us have to face, and many of us have special requests and needs for our grieving process. If you should ever find yourself in such a situation, our pledge to you is unwavering.

Our Commitment to You

We believe all owners deserve to be given every option available for end-of-life care when a pet is dying, and we will provide just that. Our team can offer palliative care here at the hospital, or make recommendations for hospice care at home if that is what our clients’ families desire. We are always respectful and upfront about what can and can’t be done, accommodating the wishes of owners as much as possible while tending to each pet’s quality of life. If euthanasia is a reasonable option, we will explain fully the pros and cons of that decision. Every situation is different, so you and your pet will always be treated and cared for as individuals.

Remembering the Life of a Pet

Blue Ridge Animal Hospital can also assist with memorializing a cherished animal companion. We offer pet cremation services and can tailor your pet’s final resting place to your desires. Our hospital is also well connected with local pet cemeteries and grief support groups and will offer up every available option for memorial and counseling arrangements. We know how much your pet means to you, and will be here to answer any and all questions you have.
